The Usual Suspects (1995): Ending Explained

The Usual Suspects (1995) · 106 min

Five career criminals thrown together in a police lineup are pulled into a job for a mysterious, near-mythical crime lord named Keyser Söze, culminating in a bloody shootout at a San Pedro harbor that leaves almost everyone dead. The entire story is told in flashback by the sole survivor, small-time con man Roger "Verbal" Kint, to a U.S. Customs agent. The final minutes reveal that Verbal has been lying the whole time, he is Keyser Söze, and his limp, his story, and his whole persona were an elaborate performance built in real time to walk free.
